I’ve always thought that farmers spent much of their time worrying about the weather and what time Bessie needed to be milked.

Shame on me… it appears that a United Kingdom farmer has more on his mind than the price of oats.

Dairy farmer Roger Stanbury ofDevon, has decided  to use one of his barns to host sex parties instead of housing his cows. Later this month he’ll open his Club Vanilla for “sexy fun” - condoms provided. All across NYC there are members-only lofts and venues holding swingers parties, typically accessed via a pre-approved password, complete with all the amenities a swinging couple or single person needs. Typically they’re BYOB (liquor licenses can be difficult to procure), and most charge couples a sizeable fee while letting in single women for free and denying stags entrance unless they’re accompanied by a woman.

Intimate Encounters takes place at a loft near Times Square whose location is only released to members. A lounge area, changing rooms, massage tables and several beds are in this 1,500 square foot space. The space caters to coupes, single females, and a few single males. It’s BYOB, but there’s a bartender on hand to help patrons concoct cocktails. Costs are $50 for couples, free for single females, and $150 for single males. (The model on the website’s homepage looks a lot like Shannon Elizabeth of American Pie fame, for what it’s worth.)

New York’s self-proclaimed “cleanest dirty place” is Brooklyn’s Casbar (117 25th Street). The 5,000-square-foot space offers BYOB bar service. Its rooms include amenities such as glory holes, spanking benches, and sex swings. Friday brings Women Who Love Cock Nights, while Saturday is Naughty Games Nights. And get ready for April 12: Poke-Her night.

One Leg Up, a well-known sex party run in NYC lofts and hotel suites, has gotten attention from places like the NY Post and Details in its decade of existence. One Leg Up throws two parties — Eat-In and Take-Out. Eat-Ins cost member couples $350, while single women are charged $50. At Take-Out parties, couples are charged $65, and single women, $10. Only members are allowed entrance; in order to become a member you have to send two photos of yourself and/or your partner, and pass a phone interview.

Orange County, California – An underground swingers club that advertises weekly sex parties for couples and has been operating as a photography studio is being shut down by the city.

A business license was applied for in August 2004, stating the purpose of the business was the “supply and design of model studios for photographic use.” On their city-mandated Sexually-Orientated/Adult Business application, they checked the box marked “Nude or Semi-nude Model Studio” rather than the box marked “Sexual Encounter Establishment.”

Club Amnesty has been promoting itself as an on-premise lifestyle members-only association club where patrons can expect to see various displays of nudity and sexual activity. The club offered different-themed rooms, including a Group Room, and a Gothic Room, which features a bed with tie-downs and a cross in the shape of a capital “X,” with wrist and ankle restraints. The club, open Friday and Saturday nights, advertises theme nights on its Web site, including a “Short Skirts and See-Thru Tops” Night on Saturday and its three-year anniversary June 28.

On their city-mandated Sexually-Orientated/Adult Business application, they checked the box marked “Nude or Semi-nude Model Studio” rather than the box marked “Sexual Encounter Establishment.”

Once the city got on their asses, they quickly came up with a number of violations aside from the discrepancies on the permits.

Swinging is not for everyone as evidenced by these City Fathers. This is but one small bump in the road for a growing and everchanging part of society.

We’re sorry to see Club Amnesty closing it’s doors but hopefully the growing and ever-changing Swinging Lifestyle will see another day - perhaps in your town!

It appears that the City of Melbourne, Florida aren’t too keen on the swinging lifestyle enjoyed by some of it’s citizens.

The city issued a cease and desist order to the Hunt Club of Brevard County giving them 15 days to pack up and hit the road.

The city found them in violation of several city codes. The city said the renters were operating a business in a non commercial area, rather in a residential area.

The renters have said their “members” donate money, even so, the city insists they are still accepting money and providing a service to non residents of the home.

The swingers club decided to continue on with Friday night’s event, “Naughty girls, ice cream and high heels social”.

Neighbors can be a pain in the ass.

Once again a local government if forcing morality down the throats of it’s citizens. Duncanville, Texas which proclaims itself “The Perfect Blend of Family, Community and Business,” is an unlikely venue for a neighborhood swingers club. The city of 36,000 just southwest of Dallas has about 50 places of worship and not a single registered sexually oriented business.

The most popular address on Cedar Ridge Drive in Duncanville, Texas is Jim Trulock’s split-level home, which has a group sex room and attracts as many as 100 people to swinger parties featuring “Naked Twister” nights.

So are those who complain of the noise, traffic and parking problems that occur in their otherwise quiet, upscale neighborhood every Friday and Saturday, when Trulock’s home is transformed into “The Cherry Pit.”

Attorneys for Trulock, 59, say the Cherry Pit is nothing more than a private residence where a group of friends get together on weekends to socialize in whatever way they prefer.

While guests are encouraged to make “voluntary donations” to cover the cost of food and refreshments, organizers deny that anyone is being charged admission to his parties.

“Typically, in this sport people change partners a lot,” Toyota Pro Beach Volleyball tour director Don Abramson said.

Because “team” in beach volleyball means two, a teammate this weekend could be a rival the next. Desirable attributes in a partner include skills that complement your own, an amiable demeanor, the ability to take constructive criticism and a goal-oriented attitude.

If you think this sounds a bit like romantic courtship, you might be more on point than you even realize.

“Finding a partner for this game, I always tell people, it’s like dating, and that’s why you have all this switching and what not,” said Matt Heath, an Association of Volleyball Professionals veteran is the winningest player in the history of the Toyota Tour.

Considering volleyball is a sport few get rich playing, teammates frequently travel, lodge and eat together. Therefore, friendship off the court is that much more vital, Heath said.”The most important thing with any new partnership is communication,” Heath said. “Some people get really sensitive about (criticism). But we have the same agenda, to win. We seem to gel pretty well.”

But given the nomadic nature of volleyball partnerships, which sometimes hinge on proximity and scheduling availability more than anything else — Heath resides in South Carolina, Adolfo in Florida — one thing is for sure: Should the duo dissolve after the Toyota Tour, it will not be for lack of chemistry.

Despite the small niche, there is a thriving industry built around the polyamorous. Self-help books, specialized marriage counselors, and retreats, which include everything from courses in Eastern philosophy to the chance to hook up with strangers, are targeted at people in open marriages.

Traditional marriage counsellors typically tell polyamorous couples who are having problems with their marriage that it is the sex with other people that is causing their problems, but therapists like Dossie Easton who co-wrote”The Ethical Slut,” disagreed.

Easton said polyamorous marriages were no more or less successful than marriages, but at least the polyamorous were never surprised to learn their spouse was cheating.

She said openly married couples saw her “for the same problems that traditional therapists deal with. Only traditional therapists tell polyamorous couples if they gave up being polyamorous, then they’d be happy.”

Problems, she said, occur when spouses have different ideas about how polyamory should work.

“Sometimes one wants to have sex with strangers, and the other wants more meaningful relationships outside the marriage. Others want to join groups of like-minded people, [which] I call pods or constellations, where sometimes child-rearing responsibilities are shared.”
